Day 02 – Chicago and Route 66 (The Journey Begins) 05/06/2013 admin Comments Closed After a good night at the hotel, went for a wander round Chicago, it’s a really beautiful city with very friendly natives and would really like to come back for a longer visit. Looking up Chicago River – did you know they actually dye this GREEN for St Patrick’s day!!! Riverside memorial for the soldiers who died during the Vietnam War. Sobering… Looking down the river… did you know they actually changed the direction of flow to stop the sewage contaminating Lake Michigan Bloody tourists, they get everywhere… Some of the varied arcitecture of the City, with the Chicago Tribune building in the background Enough said Double deck opening bridge at the entrance to the Chicago River system Looking back from the harbour into the centre of town We had the munchies… so we went to White Castle!!!!
